Sheree

ADMIN & ENROLMENT ASSISTANT

What is your background?

Originally from Glass House Mountains on the Sunshine Coast, I grew up in a small community where my life as a child was all about soccer and the beach. Once I graduated High School, I moved to Brisbane, and then Sydney, where I lived for seven years for work. After a month-long holiday in France, I moved back home to the Sunshine Coast where I met my husband Aaron. We now live together in the Northern Rivers with our two little girls, aged 4 and 3.

What do you remember best about primary school?

I have many fond memories of primary school. The most memorable was when our Italian teacher would take the time to show us his soccer skills in our lunch hour.

Where else have you worked and how has it shaped your outlook?

I have worked as an Accounts Manager for several brands and I’ve also started studying Education. I’ve been lucky to work with some exceptionally talented people, where I’ve been able to learn and grow through their mentoring and support.

Why do you enjoy working at BCPS?

The small community feel of this school is really special, particularly in a place like Byron Bay. I am really grateful to be here; everyone is so welcoming and positive.

What do you consider your greatest achievement?

My greatest achievement would be my two children. I am also pretty proud of myself for completing a full marathon in the sand at Uluru.

What aspirations still lie ahead of you?

I aim to finish my teaching degree in the next few years. I am completing my degree at my own pace to make sure the balance between work, family and studies is just right. My girls are still very young and I enjoy the special moments I share as their mum.

What occupies your time outside school hours?

As a family we love being active and enjoying the coastal lifestyle. We are often outside exploring the beautiful area that we are so lucky to live in. I’m also a little crazy about plants so I’m often found outside in the garden pottering about.
